NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR ASSOCIATION OF MEDICAL RADIATION TECHNOLOGISTS

Welcome to NLAMRT

The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (NLAMRT) works in conjunction with the national association, the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT), to direct, assist, and support medical radiation technologists (MRTs).

The NLAMRT as we know it now was formed as the Newfoundland Branch of the Nova Scotia Division of the Canadian Society of Radiological Technicians in 1951.

The first annual conference of the branch was held November 5-7, 1952, in St. John's. Subsequent to this date, the Canadian society, in 1953, decided at their annual meeting in Toronto that the 19 charter members that formed the Newfoundland Branch in 1951 constituted enough members to form their own Newfoundland division.

With over 344 members registered as of March 31, 2011 in Newfoundland and Labrador, the NLAMRT is still a vital, active provincial professional association in Newfoundland and Labrador.
